Lying in an area to the east of Lesparre, Château
Tour Prignac was created in the mid 19th century. An expanse
of woodland and meadows encircles the vineyards, making this
one of the largest estates in the Médoc.
The unique quality of Bordeaux wines comes from skilful
blending. The process is similar to choosing a fabric - selecting
the right vineyards is essential to the inherent quality of
the finished product.
Producing the Grande Réserve is a combination of style
and tradition. Médoc tradition holds the Cabernet Sauvignon
grape in high esteem, which dictates that the finest plots
and the sunniest slopes are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon.
More fertile soil is preferred for the Merlot grape, which
makes up the remainder of the blend.
